Frequently Asked Questions
Common inquiries about our legal services and process
How do you approach international trade matters?
We begin with a comprehensive review of your commercial documentation and regulatory requirements. Our approach involves coordinating directly with the Thai Customs Department, ensuring proper tariff classification, and addressing any compliance gaps. Each engagement includes a regulatory audit to identify potential areas of concern before they become issues.
What is the typical timeline for resolving maritime disputes?
Maritime matters vary considerably based on their nature. Bill of lading disputes often resolve within two to four months through negotiation. Vessel arrest proceedings require more immediate action and typically conclude within six to eight weeks. We maintain close coordination with port authorities and the Marine Department throughout the process to facilitate timely resolution.
How are construction contract fees structured?
Our construction contract service is priced at ฿35,000, which includes initial drafting or comprehensive review, a detailed risk allocation analysis, and two rounds of revisions based on your feedback or counterparty negotiations. Additional revision rounds beyond this are billed separately. The fee covers contracts of standard complexity; unusually large or complex EPC agreements may require adjusted pricing.
Do you handle matters outside of these three practice areas?
While we concentrate our practice on international trade, maritime law, and construction contracts, we maintain professional relationships with qualified counsel in other areas. If your matter falls outside our core expertise, we can provide appropriate referrals to trusted colleagues who specialize in those fields.
How do you protect client confidentiality?
Client confidentiality is fundamental to our practice. All communications and documents are protected under attorney-client privilege as recognized under Thai law. We maintain secure document management systems and restrict access to client information strictly to those directly involved in your matter. Our data handling practices comply with applicable privacy regulations.
What information should I prepare for an initial consultation?
For the most productive initial consultation, please gather any relevant contracts, correspondence, regulatory notices, or commercial documents related to your matter. If you are involved in a dispute, a timeline of events is helpful. For prospective transactions, bring draft terms or a description of the proposed arrangement. This allows us to provide more specific guidance during our first meeting.
